Apr 17, 2011· Taking that much off runs the risk of having the reo / mesh too close to the surface . The only way of getting it down would be a hydraulic planer, huge expense. A large concrete grinder with a water feed will do it but will take time and is difficult to keep a level finish. I agree with Batpig easy way is to raise the other surface .
Feb 12, 2011· I may need to do some grinding on a concrete floor to take down a couple of high spots. I looked at a 4 1/2" Makita variable speed angle grinder and a diamond cup wheel for it. I have an old Ryobi angle grinder but wondering if variable speed would be good to control the grinding and the dust collection. The Makita has a bit more power too.
